Summary

Replaces the manual Commitizen + workflow_dispatch release process with Release Please, mirroring cloud-node.

  • Add release-please-config.json and .release-please-manifest.json (release-type: python, same bump rules as cloud-node).
  • Mark _version.py with x-release-please-version and register it as an extra file (release-please only auto-detects version.py and __init__.py).
  • Rewrite release.yml: release-please on push to main → build → publish to PyPI via trusted publishing. Workflow file name and pypi environment are unchanged, so no PyPI config change is needed.
  • Drop the TestPyPI publish path.
  • Remove Commitizen (dependency and config).
  • Reformat the existing CHANGELOG.md entry to release-please style.
  • Update the README publishing section.
